Since my last message in September 2008 I can now confirm that Peter ( pool builder ) has installed my pump and will be commissioning it next week ( week commencing April 13th ).

Peter always stated to me that when he was in a position to complete our agreement he would. To date he has completed the pool, patio and now the pump.

I feel more comfortable now that I can see that he has done as he said he would.

I agree with Worried, and thank you for a well thought out response.

We must stand by each other and achieve our common goal.

It is inevitable that individuals will not see eye to eye sometimes, and with the current climate we need to put personal matter aside, even if it is painfull.

I wish all of the committee the very best for the new year and I place my reliance on their decision, as I do not live on site all year round.

Lets all band together and offer support where ever possible.

Be careful if using Peter ( the Belgian ) promoted by Ronnie to build your pool.

I contracted Peter ( Prestige Pools - Piscinas ) October 2007 to build my pool. A proper contract was drawn up and subsequently signed by Peter and myself. The payments were phased and all went well during the digging, construction, and patio laying.

At the beggining of December 2007 he requested his final payment of 3000 euro, in addition I asked him to supply and install a salt generator at an additional cost of 1800 euro. These payments were made as everthing had gone well.

When we arrived in Spain in Jan 08 we discovered that the pool construction was completed but we had no pump, lights, salt treatment or water for the pool.

We have chased Peter ever since and as to date ( Sept 08 ) we are still without the pump lights, salt treatment or water for the pool.

My last contact was via text on Mon Sept 1st 2008 ( as he will not answer his mobile ) his reply stated that he is hoping to supply and fit the pump in late sept 08.

I did speak with him face to face in June of this year and he explained that he had no money in which to supply the pool equipment. Although I have paid him all of the money.

DO NOT PAY ALL OF YOUR MONEY UNTIL THE JOB IS COMPLETELY FINISHED

I have now signed 3 contracts for the builders continuous supply of water & electricty.

I received a phone call today from a friend on El Trampolin warning me that El Presidente ( melon Farmer ) has disconnected all supplies until everyone pays 3000 euros. They will then have the water & electricy re-instated.

My question is ( if this is wahat has happed ) what is the use of paying the 3000 euros if they can disconnect every time they want money.

How can they legally issue a signed annex to contract and thus just ignore their obligation under the terms they have signed and agreed.

Has anyone heard anything.

Hi,

Hi. I'am at 101 and have had the same problem with dampness. In November El Trampolin removed the outside tiles and cladding, rendered and applied a grey elastic paint, the replaced the tiles and cladding. On the inside they removed the plaster and let it dry for a couple of days and then applied new plaster. I was then told I would have to wait for the plaster to dry before painting would be carried out.

In December we returned and found the new plaster to be black with mould.

In January Trampolin removed the earth along the side of the villa where the dampness first started. They then excavated a trench along the full side of the villa all the way to the main drain. They poured concrete into the trench and then painted it with the elastic paint. They then backfilled the trench with gravel. The theory is that the earth around the vilaas holds water for a long time and is then slowly released into the foundations causing dampness. They hope that the wetness will collect on the gravel and run down to the main drain. It remains to see if this is effective.

I have started to install guttering around the villa to prevent rainwater from the roof soaking into the cladding on the lower walls around the villa. I have also installed new drains for the rain water to drain into.

I will attempt to post some photos on the site.
