There is a Leroy Merlin nearer than La Cañada it is in Los Barrios 

Head  towards Algeciras and it's on your left it's a retail park

there is a Leroy Merlin and a big store called Bricor 

they both have a good selection of shower screens and lots of other household stuff

Went in to Movistar the bloke was really good very helpful said Block 20 is ok all set up for Fibre Optic Quite reasonable 62 Euro for phone and Internet with free landline calls and you can have your mobile phone included with free minutes Also can be done in 1 week if you change your phone number and 2 weeks if you want to keep the same telephone number so not bad But !!! When you first take out the contract which is only 3 months so good there too You CANT !!! Make any calls to the UK for the first 3 Months ( for security he said ) Don't understand that one !! I asked if UK could phone me but he wasn't sure about that Seems odd that Has anyone else had this experience if so can people in UK ring us ? I know we can use our mobiles or even Skype and FaceTime but it's a bit inconvenient. Sue

Hi we have had an apartment on DV for 7 years now and for the last 4 have had internet and phone from BT ( cocoon telecom ) no problems at all with service but loads of buffering since DV got even busier. Thinking of moving over to Movistar. Fibre Optic has anyone had this new service connected and if so how are you finding it and the service from Movistar because they are not renowned for their customer service or aftercare . Is it reliable and fast and does all the buffering and freezing stop ( we use film on for uk tv ) Thanks Sue

Don't be put off by the last persons post 

there is always people negative all doom and gloom and wanting to complain

every house need jobs doing from time to time in every country.

yes July and August are busier but not crazy on DV

bit more noise around the pool but just people having fun on their holidays never any trouble just friendly excitement.

as for the pool incident mentioned I was in Greece when a little girl had an accident in the pool a dicky tum and cold water I am sure that would be all it was .

We live here full time and have done for 5 Years and it's a lovely place to live no complaints no serious complaints or lifestyle issues.

if you have a problem the Maintainanace men around DV are excellent as are the gardeners and the ladies who clean it's a well run Development and the Security men are great too .lots of Develpoments don't have the security on the gates as we have 24 Hours .

If you need any help or advice or jobs doing people are always ready to help on this Forum or on Manilva Life Forum check that one out.

you always get one person who loves to revel in the bad bits 

go ahead and buy it's a lovely place to live

I hope you are right !! I read your post and went onto Amazon and ordered one £14

i have a dog myself but I agree the barking drives me mad

My dog never used to bark at all but due to next doors dog barking continually mine now retalliates

it drives me mad can't even sit on the terrace in peace

so here goes just waiting for it to arrive and peace and quiet at last
