BUILDINGS AND CONTENTS INSURANCE

I am just looking at a new buildings and contents insurance both with a Spanish and English underwriter, does anyone have any info they think may be of use.

Cheap but reliable insurance companies (do they exist) has anyone had any issues with any company that I should steer well away from. All comments would be greatfully recieved.

The property is a 2 bed 2 bath apt.

Thanks all I am also out at La Finca next week for a few days si I will put an update on waht I find new bars etc.

We are on R5 wish I had read the comment earlier about the gas etc. We hadn't been told about the gas supply needing our account information. We had people staying there last week and guess what yeah you guessed right the gas had been cut off. I had to pay 96 euros for gas bills dated Nov-March although we hadn't bought it until March. It took three days before the gas was re connected after a lot of phone calls to the solicitors and the bank. I have to say that the people at the bank were very helpful (Cam Bank)

I would recommend that people speak to the builders about the supply or face a couple of days with cold showers. I am taking the family out on the 31st of May for a couple of weeks really looking forward to it. After nearly three years I think we are finally seeing the finishing post, just need water in the pool.

We have purchased a property on La Finca valverde R5 B2 near the new roundabout for the link road to Algorfa. I was over there in February and the pool was 99% finished. I have just been advised after I rang and chased that the pool is still without water and will remain so until the magical community is "set up"

Does anyone have any experience of the time that it takes to elect a president of a community and get some water in the pool? Is anyone located in the same would be community ? I am out there on the 1st of June and was kinda hoping that the kids would be able to go swimming and not pot holing. Anyone got any ideas or a paddling pool?

Any up to date info on the commercial area yet or is it still one pub and twelve banks ?

Hi Everyone,

Hope that you have all had a good start to the new year.

I am off to la Finca on the 21st Feb to finalize and our property situated down near the new Algorfa link road. I have been reading the comments regarding the security issues and we are also looking at grills. Does any one have any info regarding the break ins ie; have they all been through the single door? Have the patio shutters seemed enough to deter any would be burgular or have the roller shutters been "Forced" Any ideas??

As I said earlier we are down near the new link road does any one know if the pool at the side of the road is now complete? In October I know it was tiled internally but the surrounding lanscape was still pretty Beiruty. Any info would be gratefully received.
