My experience of Intasure has not been good, they gave me a policy with 1m rebuilding, what many expats dont realise is insurance companies doing business in Spain have to contribute to the central pot the el consortio of insurance a percentage of the premium charged based on the true rebuilding cost, it is in the insurance co intrests to keep this as low as possible, as a consequence Intasure only contributed the full rebuilding cost at 150k when the minimum should have been 300k as a consequence any payout by the consortio is reduced by half, many items in the policy are only covered by the el consortio, i would urge anybody insured with intasure to ask them how much they have insured the property with the el consortio and dont accept you have 1m cover, despite what your documents state, maybe you wondered why they were so competative!

Be careful of intasure, they are cheap for a reason they dont pay claims, and they under insure the buildings with the el consortio of insurance by up to half the rebuilding cost, so you will be left underinsured as many items are not covered by them in spain you have to submit the claim to the el consortio and they only pay the percentage of the insurance, my policy stated that the rebuilding cost was 1 million, intasure infact insured the full rebuilding cost with the consortio at 150k so the claim will be met at a reduced amount, i have refered intasure to the FSO and they have agreed to investigate them. Also the el consortio office in Madrid, came to my house inspected the damage, interviewed me and have taken a statement and a copy of the policy, in their words "revenue evasion"

Another tactic is once you make a claim they refuse to renew the policy on expiry, there are many complaints on google about them, you will get a glossy brouchure, you will get a certificate in any language you like, you will get piece of mind but god help you if you make a claim
