When we came to Spain in Sept 2006 to check on the progress of our apartment, we were horrifed to note that it clearly did not have the uninterrupted panoramic views we were promised. We were a first floor apartment in block 5. Despite this openly being acknowledged by the sales person who sold us the property, no-one was interested as "we had signed the contract". We were advised at best that we might be able to swap with another apartment but at this stage, the development didn't meet up to the expectations of the sales hype.

Despite being told we had no hope of having our money returned and having gone through 2 years of anxiety and stress, we now have our deposit safely returned (plus an award of interest and contribution towards legal fees). We used our bank guarantee and of course our solicitors to litigate and the San Roque court found in our favour. Everyone told us the odds were stacked against us but we new we had to try and were willing to take the risk. The point of this email is to give hope to others who purchased and find themselves in a similar position to ours.

For those of you who would  like to see what a satellite dish looks like stuck on your solarium (terrace), have a look at the phot ograph posted in the Green Valley "view pictures link" i think you will agree it is obstructs what is a fantastic view from the baclony.

There is a solution but we need to act quickly before too many people "do their own thing".

Communal Satellite?

Has anybody got views about installing a communal dish for the development?

I personally do not want  to have an ugly 1 metre diameter dish bolted to my balcony!

I am in touch with a company who specialises in the installation of communal satellite systems.

I am awaiting costs but from the basic jist of things, they will install the main dish free of charge and then bill each dwelling as and when they want their system connected.

Does anyone know of any "catches" with this?  I guess this company will hold the registration details etc.

Please find below a section of the email sent to me:

I would need to look at the community to be sure but we do offer subsidised plans for Communities, so that they incur no fees for the installation. We install a base system free of charge then install each client as required, then expand the system as required. In effect, the system is paid for by the connecting clients and is fully owned by them and us. This suits the community because we handle all administration etc, and no costs are incurred. The system is fully maintained ongoing by us ensuring uniterupted viewing for members of the community, giving complete peace of mind.
thanks all

We've been in regular contact with Laine's over the last few days and have found them to be helpful, responsive, very efficient and nothing is too much trouble. It has given us the assurance and peace of mind we needed that things will be dealt with in our absence. I would recommend them.

Hi everyone

We've purchased in the 500's block. We were horrified when we visited in October 06 to find that the view from our apt would be obstructed by the block in front despite being sold "med views over the links course". Has anyone experienced the same problem? We were told from the outset that the development would not complete until June 07 - does anyone have an update on this completion date?
