Hi,

Can anyone advise me on a good builder/handyman that they have direct experience of in Reserva. I require a 25 sq.meter garden to be tiled/paved and one or two other small tasks.

I will be back in Reserva next week and really looking forward to a holiday. We have been very pleased with the progress made over the last two years in the development and are very pleased with our choice of apartment and location.

I know that you all have been progressing many issues around the area so I will add one more that bothers me. When we arrive in the carpark in La Reserva the fire doors are usually jammed open with the fire extinguishers!!!!!! This is a regular occurance and of course presents a serious risk to all residents. I have asked the Administration to put up signs!! Your help in this matter would be appreciated.

Thank you.

The following has been issued by the president of the Board of the Community.

El Presidente de la Junta

The Board of the Community considers it opportune to start a campaign to sensitise the dog owners to pick up the excrements of their dogs of the community streets and the communal areas.

The security guards and maintenance personnel have received instructions to hand over little bags to all the owners walking around their dog to pick up these excrements, independently if they bring a bag with them or not and without prejudging posterior behaviour. This handing over will start 22nd October.

If you own a pet or not, we request your participation and cooperation to improve the conservation of our community as this will be a benefit to all of us. We also ask you to pass this message over to anybody who for some reason did not receive this message.

Yours sincerely,

The President of the Board

No one should take 'direct action' against any other owner or occupier to collect management charges. The collecting of these charges is a  function of the Administration.

If people have completed on their properties then there is no reason why they cannot be pursued for payment. It is extremely unfair on those who do pay.

Many have not completed on their contracts to purchase which I suspect is the main problem. This may remain the case until licences are issued.

Hopefully decisions can be made soon. In the meantime enjoy your summer.

The Junta de Andalucía has announced that planning responsibility will be returned to Marbella Town Hall from 16th June, once the new Corporation has been formally constituted.

The Junta de Andalucía’s councillor for presidency, Gaspar Zarrías, gave the news in a press conference on Tuesday after the regional government’s weekly meeting. He also said that Marbella’s new local development plan, the PGOU, delivered by the team commissioned for its design to the Junta’s public works department last week, will be handed over to Marbella Town Hall on the same day as planning responsibilities are returned.

The woman voted in as the new Partido Popular Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, has meanwhile announced that her new planning councillor will be the lawyer, María Alba Echevarría.

She told journalists that the planning department will be managed just like any other area at the Town Hall and will be given no special importance over other areas.

Marbella Town Hall has been run by a Management Committee since the Cabinet decision on 7th April last year to dissolve the Corporation following dozens of arrests in the Malaya corruption case. The main figure in the case is Juan Antonio Roca, former planning assessor to the Town Hall.

More than one year on, the arrests now number more than one hundred.
