 I have  driven both routes through france also the ferry to Santander and also bilbao the ferry is the easier way but better  if you can get the ferry from the uk to Santander Pont  Arun a good ship  as opposed to Bilbao its a awkward place to navigate around  and  no refreshment area in the holding area for vehicles  together with a slum ship with little to offer regards facilities on board where the staff on the ship after a 2hours delay went off duty when the ship was finally boarded  terrible ship cant remember its name .With regards driving down be aware at all times that you are not followed   onto  the service areas however quiet and secure  it may seem been approached and tried to rob mywife and i in the most innocent of places GB  sign a dead give away just something that happenend to me twice alway be aware its obvious but my point is dont let your guard down

 the only difference with uk banks is which one has the best parking facilities all the same these days either half an hour going through security questions or a trawl through the internet for half a day cynical an exageration but banks here in uk not that good anymore
