Hi Philip & Luc

Thanks for the further information.

As an update, we received a letter a few days ago asking for payment of the next quarterly community charge (Jan-March 2009). The cost was the same as the charges for last year.

In the post this morning we have received another letter with details of the meeting on 8th May and minutes from the October meeting.

On a completely different matter, when we were over in January, Lesters the restaurant opposite the hotel was closed. Has this closed for good do you know? Shame if it has, as we used it a number of times and found it to be very good.

best wishes

Nigel and Marian

Hi Philip and Luc

Thanks for your updates.

We did attend the meeting in October, as purely by coincidence we were over on holiday. The notes I left on the forum at the time record what was actually said about the play equipment . As the meeting was mainly held in Spanish, Darren the president translated the key points for us during the meeting. Like many others, we have not seen the minutes so we are unaware how the discussion was actually recorded in the minutes.

This is the note I wrote down following Darren's translation at the time :-

"It was suggested that a childs play area be built on the ground next to A block. Concerns were raised about the terrain and noise. Plans are to be submitted to the community."

As you can see there was certainly no agreement that it should be installed without further discussion or agreement. It would be interesting to find out how we have ended up with the play equipment actually arriving and being installed.

Please let us know what you find out. It's very useful to get some regular feedback from some permanent residents, please keep up the good work.

Best wishes

Nigel and Marian (A8)

Hi Mark

Was the letter posted to your Spanish or UK address?

We have not received any letter at our UK address and we were only over in Altea 2 weeks ago and at that time had no letter delivered their either.

Has anyone received a quarterly community charge from the administrator for 2009 ? They normally arrive at the start of the quarter but we have received nothing yet.

We did receive a letter in October 2008 stating that we owed 450 euros dating back to February 2008. We had no idea what this was for and despite various e-mails and telephone calls to the administrators office, we have never received a reply or even a reminder about payment. Maybe this is typical of Spanish beauracracy!

regards

Nigel and Marian

Hi Gerry

There is no charge for the fob and it can be collected from an office that is located within the old supermarket near the hotel. Alternatively call in to the Ballester sales office by the fountain.

thanks
