  Hello, I've been doing some research about Happy surfer post and this is a problem of a land outside our resort  (including the hotel and Los Altos,) 

This problematic sale was at the end of 2.006 and our place was started long before. Not just our resort is playa macenas but all the land around  that beach it's also named that way. Unfortunately the construction of the hotel and the Altos is going to take a while but only due to the crisis.

I remember when i bought the property in 2006  medgroup commented that in a future somme land around our resort towards the montains and to the south was going to be also built in a similar project so maybe is part of that. Anyway is good to be aware about any news related. 

By the way i'm very happy with the decision of the security improvement, now we need to follow up close the humidity problems :-(

Finally, my first long weekend as an owner of a Patios apartment... i had the best time over there!

The place it's absolutely amazing, very special & peacefully, i enjoyed every second of it , my expectations were far improved, all this despite the fact that the resort is just starting and of course there is things that can be improved. 

I talked with Antonio Torres manager off the company that runs our community and basically i had 3 concerns: 

- mosquitos, at night with open windows and lights on you must be carefully , he said that he's waiting for a meeting with the mayor to ask for a proper fumigation (but it's expensive...)

- local buses, (I don't like cars i used taxis but it will be great to have the buses) he also mentioned that he had it in the agenda for the meeting with mayor .  For the moment there is only 2 to mojacar playa (08,05 & 15,05 ) and 2 back from Mojacar playa starting at Marina de la Torre  14,30 & from 22,30.

- tv's reception, we probably need a bigger broadcasting booster (also expensive and need to have a permit...) i had 2 days of perfect reception of spanish TDT channels and satellite English, germans, french....channels) but the third day it started to fail  so for the moment i've got a membership to Digtal +.

Returning to the beginning of the thread.......  The beachclub is fantastic (the bar is open to all but the swimming pool only for members : 750€ a year & you get discount 10% at the bar, discount for services, cleaning....etc)  i think is worthy even if for the moment the gym and sauna are not there yet, only the jacuzzi is working over a beautiful view. Just one problem no umbrellas with this sun? ( i  asked for them but for the moment no reply) i don't golf so i cannot talk about it but all the time i was there i saw people playing.

 I'm very happy with the purchase this place is unique right now so imagine when everything will be finish, this recession has to stop some time.

Hello, in my case I've been advised by Ursula to get a membership to DIGITAL + plus (I'm already subscribed in my Madrid home for movies, sports, series, documentaries...etc)  in order to have a clear and good tv reception for  Los Patios apartment . 

She told me tv reception is not good,  some days it works and others not at all? I really don't understand why? You can ear most of the channels in English depending your choice of channels and "packages" but I don't know about specific English channels except BBC world?

 I'm a buyer of Los patios and I'm going to try to resume what i know on the legal situation of Macenas resort:

First the legality of the resort is never been questioned but  Macenas beach is been an almost virgin space so "Salvemos Mojacar " a local organization has always tried to stopped. 

1) First before even the construction started they said  it was illegal to build anything in there, but they couldn't succeed  cause that land was not protected so it could be build in (unlike most of cabo de gata land which is totally protected and cannot be builded )

2) Then they brought  to court  the legal distance from the water to the hotel (only the hotel)  but  by the time medgroup started the construction it was timet after a new distance was imposed by law so they already builded with that distance in mind, but just to be sure they moved the hotel construction some meters back to avoid any problem . The resort is respecting the legal distance(public domain)  following the new law. Nothing to do with  the problem of Algarrobico hotel which is in fact  to close to the beach not respecting the legal distance.

3) Then salvemos mojacar foundation placed a demand trying to stop the  hotel construction "this time they said" cause it was constructed on the middle of a "rambla" (where the rain water from the mountain suppose to run thru,)......

All the demands have been rejected, dismissed so far. The last one #3 had a resolution (also rejected) 2 Mars 2009 by judge Tomas Cobo (sentence appeared in various local newspapers ). Medgroup  stopped the hotel construction only because of the crisis situation and they did it way before the  judge resolution  ( he authorized  to keep on with construction) You can google all this info. like I said in this forum before I'm spanish and i've been following this matters, I  will not purchased something illegal. I always felt that this is not a typical damaging construction (unfortunately to many in spain)  I thought is been done with a respect for  the entourage that's why I liked.

 Is fair to say that Greenpeace organization is never been involved "in actions" with macenas ( I'm a member) , only salvemos mojacar (a local organization) is been placing the demands ( i believe they do what they think they should do)  but  i don't like the fact  that they lied in their web saying that "the resort will have 2 hotels 2 golf courses and thousands of apartments.."  which is not true, not at all the spirit of the place.
