I was in Marina D'or in May and was also pleasantly surprised by how nice it looks now.  The trees and shrubs have all grown and the whole resort looked 'greener' which was much better than the total 'red brick' look which is all I saw last time I was there!  The gardens appear to be being well maintained and we actually found a lovely restaurant along the seafront with an English menu!  The Italian restaurant was still serving great food, although a lot of the other bars and restaurants were not open and there was not very many people about (however the ash cloud was a big broblem the week we were there and the weather quite cold for the time of year, so that probably had something to do with it).  There was work going on at the water park (although not a lot).  Our swimming pool in Vistamar III was still closed.   We hired a car and explored the area this time, and found Alcossebre which is about 20 mins drive North which was really nice with a lovely Marina at the far end of the resort.  Also loved Benicassim.   Hoping that business will pick up once the new airport opens, and also hoping that work will soon start on the rest of the resort - it will be a big bonus even if they got on with the golf courses for now!

Hi All

Thats a real shame they have cancelled the mini golf project.  Does anyone know how progress is going with the water park between the apartment blocks - when I was in resort in September they had started it - hope they are not going to cancel that too?

I have heard that the Mundo Ilusion project is now also being postponed - does this mean that Marina Dor Golf will not go ahead either? Any one any news please!

we also completed on an apartment in Vistamar III in Feb 06 and have been paying the quarterly maintenance since May last year.  We were given the forms to fill in by Macanthony who we purchased through.  We have now rented our apartment out for 11 months to help pay the mortgage and hopefully keep it safer - our TV was stolen recently with no sign of a break in, so someone must have used one of the keys kept by Marina D'or to get in.  Does anyone know about paying tax on rental income? I have heard that it is as much as 25% - does anyone know if the tax authorities contact you direct or is it your own responsibility to declare?  Regards, Barbara

Hi we have bought an apartment in Vistamar III.; we completed in Feb 06 and we still have snags outstanding.  We purchased through Macanthony Realty. They have been trying to get everything sorted, but it is a very slow process! we last visited in Sept. and couldnt use the pool outside our building as the water was filthy.  We would love to know who other people plan to use to advertise their apartment for rentals, and who to use for cleaning/key holding etc. The language problem is quite a barrier- hardly anyone in the resort seems to speak English!  When we stayed there was only about 3 other families staying in the whole block so it was a bit spooky going back there at night.  As far as we could see, none of the golf courses or other golf developments have started yet. Nor has the work started on the proposed mini golf near to our apartment, or the new big restaurant.
