Hi all,

I'd recommend clubbing together on this one as much as possible. If you approach online rental companies such as medhotels.com and holidaybrokers.co.uk you may be able to get them to take the development onto their books. This is what a few good friends of mine have done with their respective communities. You will end up having to maintain a site office (which doesn't cost very much in the long run) so that people can get their keys and things, but the online retailers shift massive amounts of rentals and will get you a decent return.

Alternatively you could use a rental company in the area, which will probably not get as many rentals but the weekly income will be higher when you do.

Hope this helps,

John.

Hi eltonia,

You are talking to the wrong people about your electricity issues. 'You know who' don't organise that for you, nor can they. Your lawyer is responsible for making sure the right contracts are in place with the water/electricity company. If OV* keep telling you that it's not their responsibility then why keep going back to them?

You should contact the guys who are trying to organise the community of owners for phase 1 as, if there is a general problem with the electricity, the Community will help resolve it much faster than you can on your own.

Also, I would keep your OV* bashing to a minimum as those kind of threads tend to get removed and any constructive info to other owners is lost.

Regards,

John.

Dan,

I'm sure you're not stupid. The removed threads would only have been removed if there were legal grounds to do so.

At no point have I said that people with severe problems shouldn't be able to post. People should be able to share their experiences but they should not post outright lies just to rally people to their cause. That is a despicable abuse of a valuable resource.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

John.

Hi all,

Having said I wouldn't post again as many of the issues on here have become very convoluted, imagine my surprise to find positive action has been taken to stop the scare-mongering that has been going on. Thanks EOS, now hopefully people can get an objective view of what is going on without being told out-right lies.

I have a GoM reservation. I, too, received the letter from the Developer. I have showed it to my solicitor and they say that the Developer has absolutely no legal footing for cancelling the purchase agreement if I don't get in touch with the 30 days mentioned. I have a purchase contract (with a newly signed annex) so there are no grounds for the undue cancellation of the purchase.

Helen, thank goodness there are some more of us out there with some objectivity!

Just Dan, I don't know if you have bought on this Development. I'm sure that if you had you'd know the contents of the letter, which is not forcing early completion. The LFO is not in place and I don't think anyone in their right mind would complete without it.

I don't know what's happened on this site to make people think a little more objectively but it's a good start. Hopefully the nay-sayers will do what they should have been doing all along and get in touch with OVP and help yourselves.

All the best,

John.

Hi KaLe,

I think you might be mistaken about the Licences for Manilva Beach. I have a property in Block six and the LFO came through a couple of months ago. I have been assured by my lawyer that everything is in place to proceed (apart from some sort of swimming pool licence). If you have any reason to believe that the information I have is incorrect please let me know.

All being well I should be completing next week, before the August 15th deadline.

Cheers,

John.
