Can give you all an outline of the meeting................this is all I know from a quick phone call from Lorraine, but dont quote me on this, so here goes:
- Sir Bill has been voted president - "Hail Sir Bill"
- Vice president is Keith Fairchild
- I think there were about 13 people who attended.
- Keith (and any other residents available) will be doing a snagging for the communal areas.
- It has been agreed for everyone to put €1000 per apartment into the community coffers for the first year to cover maintenance etc
- It was felt that they were a bit railroaded into using the contractors through Quara, and that this was quite expensive, I believe that one resident had spoken to the contractors and it would be cheaper to go private.
- There was also a discrepancy on the amount of communal ground there was, this is quite small compared to some of the other communities, but cost did not seem proportional.
- SECURITY - was discussed that even with the electronic gates access is very easy via the driveways of the ground floor apartments. Dont really know the answer here, possibly taller fencing and gates along this side of R6.
BE AWARE THAT A GROUND FLOOR APARTMENT (I BELIEVE IT TO BE 963) WAS BROKEN INTO THE OTHER WEEK
- Electronic gate fobs will be handed out in the next few weeks, either to owners or keyholders. The gate will be activated once everyone has the fob.
- Ground floor gardens, it was decided that a seperate quote would be sort for these, the cost would then be split something along the lines of 25% upper to 75% lower (not sure on the exact % though), as its in everyones interest to keep R6 looking good
- A contingency fund of €1000 will be put aside for all the necessary paraphanalia around the pool, Signs, life ring etc.
- It was also discussed that in general we had drawn a short straw when it came to the plants and landscaping (not a great deal of imagination gone into it compare to other communities), this is going to be looked into. Especially now, as most of the trees have died now. Possibility of increasing the size of the paved area around the pool by removing the gravel beds, and having rasied beds for the plants.
- Quara advised that there was and insurance charge that covered the outside of the buildings, it was felt that we would all have contents and buidings insurance this may not be required.
- There are still 3 groundfloor apartments to be sold, Quara to pay there proportion.
- Pool pump and lights in pool NOT working
- Mains GAS, seems to be a problem with the system somewhere along the line, this will be rectified in the next couple of weeks.
- 25 DEGREES C HERE, RAINING CATS AND DOGS THERE HOPE ITS NOT THE START OF GLOBAL WARMING!
I hope this makes sense, and is'nt misleading
