This is very good news Thea -  It seems that more progress is being made every week.  Thank you for keeping us updated.  Hope to eventually meet you when we are over for our next visit in August

Hi Thea

Thank you for your excellent update on the management company.  It is quite worrying that only 40 of 230 apartments have been completed (which is a very different story that we have been told by the Sales Office!!).  We are in Block 20 1/3 and completed last July and have enjoyed many visits to La Hacienda since.  We love the development but are increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress - particularly within the grounds and on the approach road to the entrance.    It is a really beautiful development but unless more of the investors complete then it will take so much longer to establish the community.   We visit our apartment often (have been four times so far this year) and I am returning on 19 June for one week.  I will be bringing guests with me and it is disappointing that there is very little progress since their last visit.

Hope to meet you on one of our visits Thea

Happy New Year to you all - hope 2008 is a happy one for all La Hacienda residents !  Just back from two weeks in our apartment.  The weather was not good at the beginning - in fact the worst the coast has experienced in over 20 years,  Very, very wet!  It made us realise that you really do need a representative over in Spain to check your property when you're not there.  (Maggie Wood is ours - if you're interested!).

There were more new people than we've seen before but there's still a lot of work needing to be done to the development to get it right.  Caroline is Ana's replacement - she can be reached at carolina@moleon.com .  She is French and seems nice but not so sure that she has enough grasp of the Spanish language to be a good representative for the investors.  For example I wrote a two page letter which I gave to her and our lawyer with all the outstanding snagging points - she asked me to get my lawyer to translate it into Spanish ??!!

The road up to La Hacienda is still in total darkness and the two newest blocks are still untouched (no work done since we were last there in November).  Not a good first impression if you have visitors or worse are trying to rent your apartment!

We met Vera and Ernst (Block 1) for the first time, Carol and Mike (Block 20) who we know and Jimmy (Block 21).  Vera tried to arrange a get together for any of the residents on site but unfortunately there was not a big turn out!  It would be a good idea, through this forum, to get as many people as possible together and organise our own "community".  Victor Sanchez has assumed this role but to date I don't think he has made contact with anyone!  There's so much outstanding work to be done that it would be far better to have a collective voice than try and take Dreamhills on one by one !

We picked up an up to date price list and the good news is that all apartments have gone up in price - between €80,000 and €100,000 in some cases!  The bad news is that there are about 80 apartments still to be sold.  This includes the newest phase (blocks 22, 23 and 24) but there are a lot of empty apartments in other blocks.  If there are still 80 apartments left and the community charge is €1,200 then this means that Victor would need to pick up this cost to get the Community up and running - which might explain the reason why nothing has happened yet .

I could go on with more negatives but there are actually lots of positives!!  The apartments are lovely, the views are spectacular (on a good day) and the grounds and pool areas are special (if they are maintained).  We still love it and are looking forward to our next visit.

If anyone has contact details or website information for Pauline (who lives on site) - could they pass these on please.

Hope to see or meet more of you sometime

Isobel and Kenny

Hi All

Well we're about to go over to our apartment for the third visit since we completed (back in June).  We've lived in the apartment with the temporary water and electricity for a week at a time and it's been more or less fine except that the lifts weren't operational and there's always the worry that the water lorries will run out !!  We've had two different renters in our apartment (July and early this month).  The first loved it so much he's booked again for next year and the second - which was a work colleague - loved the apartment but wasn't enamoured with the building work still going on.  They also had problems with the drain in the ensuite bathroom which although it has since been fixed it's only now occurred to me that there could be a problem due to the lack of S bend - so thank you for making me aware.  I will take this up with Ana.

Who would have thought that three years after buying the plot that the builders would still be on site !!  I have a friend who's bought in the Murcia region.  She had temporary electricity from the construction generator for nearly a year and didn't pay anything at all.  Seems crazy but this might be the Spanish way !!

Look forward to meeting you all one day - See you and Mike next week Carol and good luck with your move !

I agree with all the comments !   We were originally told in May 2004 that the development would be released as one phase (ie. we would all move in at the same time) and that there would be a connecting road from the toll road.   Unfortunately with hindsight we should have pushed for all of this in writing (but then Spain is different from UK I suppose !).  The good news is that we moved into our apartment at the end of July and we are really pleased with it even although we were the only people in the block!  We have even had renters staying in it for the last 10 days and despite the fact that the development is not fully complete they loved it.    It is off the beaten track and that's what attracted us to it - the views are worth the drive over the many sleeping policemen though!  Perhaps when the community is established we'll be able to influence what happens to the surrounding roads ?
