Could anyone in the know advise me please regarding proxy voting?

My question is: if you have say three proxy votes plus your own vote, do you have to vote in the same way for all of them. If I voted for Joe Bloggs, then would all four votes be for Joe Bloggs?

What if the people you had proxy votes for wanted to vote in a different way to you on some of the proposals or candidates for election at the Annual General Meeting?  Would this be possible (ie two votes for a proposal, two votes against).

Our community is quite new and still finding out about these things.  If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be most grateful.

Thank you.

Hello

I live on a community of approximately 30 villas, about three years old.   We have a private road, community swimming pool and private lighting.

Our President wants to paint the communal walls.  He has told us that we own the inside of our walls, but the outside of the walls belong to the community.  Several owners have already painted what they considered to be 'their' property.

Could someone please advise me ... If all the walls are communal, would the President need just a majority vote, or a unanimous vote at the AGM to enable him to carry out this task?

Thanks in anticipation.

ps thanks for a very informative forum.  My previous query brought a very satisfactory answer which has enabled our prospective President  to move forward.

Hello, I am new to this forum.

Can anyone advise me please?  Our AGM is in November.  We think that the President is going to have secret voting this year, which means the voting papers will be completed and returned to the Administrator, and the results presented to the AGM.

This means that there will be no debate, as everything will be decided before the AGM.  All owners on our community will have to complete this secret ballot paper, including the ones who will attend the meeting.

Is this legal?

We were under the impression that you either attend the AGM, or in your absence, you gave a trusted person your proxy vote.

Thanks.
