Please David, don't continue the embarrassing scenes from the meeting. Saturday made more clear than ever that the current comittee wants to jump on everything Max says and tries to discredit him in every way possible. When Max even raised his hand to ask a question the president already started shouting he should shut up.

The translator came to us after the meeting to apologise. She was really embarrassed by the things she had to say, and wanted to stress the point that she was just translating and that she felt really bad about having to say those horrible things.

The accusations of Pepe and other comittee members on Max' address were really disgusting, trying to blame all current and past problems on Max personally, even while Hernan-the former president- pointed out that Max was not the only one in the comittee last year, and that most of the current comittee members were active in the former comittee. You denied that earlier, but in the minutes of the november 2008 meeting Javier, Pepe and yourself are specifically thanked for the work carried out (childishly omitting Max, Hernan and Tonia)

About the residents, there is a group of residents who have always felt very involved in community business, who know most of the people here and play a big social role in Don Juan. In the last year a few long term renters have been added to this group, who have the permission of their landlords to vote on their behalf. We meet up with these people regurlarly -when we are walking our dogs, when we are strolling around, when we are collecting our children from each others apartment or driving each others children to school, etc- and we did talk about the meeting. Based on the experience of the last two meetings and the efforts of the comittee to slander and discredit everybody who played an active role in the call for the May EGM they decided they don't want to have anything to do anymore with the comittee and don't want to waste their time on meetings where they will be denied the right to speak or where they are just being slandered. Most of them don't think that the threat of the comittee that every neighbour who criticizes them in the future will be legally prosecuted will hold up in court, but they don't want to invest time in legal procedures, would the comittee sue them so they chose the easy way out: live life like they want it in Don Juan, and ignore the comittee.

Jo, it's not a community rule but an Andalusian law. We can lose our license if we don't comply.

Thank you Irene, that is very sweet of you. I have a first aid kit at home and so have most of the people in Don Juan I think. But that is not the point I am trying to make.

Those first aid-kits at swimming pools have very strict requirements according to the law and those are different from you average home first-aid kit. Not fulfilling those requirements can lead to high fines or even losing the license and being forced to close the pool. We would need -like last year- someone responsible to check the contents often and refill when needed. I have offered the comittee to take that role if there is no one else available, but it is important that someone is on top of it. Both for our security and the legal consequenses.

A word of warning to everybody using the phase I pool: there are quite a lot of loose tiles at the bottom, that can cause nasty cuts.

Also a request to the comittee, to whoever is responsible for the emergency kit to check it and keep it filled following the legal requirements. Max cut himself badly today, and the emergency kit was empty (except for some non-sterile cotton balls). There wasn't even any toilet paper to dress the wound, so he had to hop home leaving a bloody trail.
