Hi

As with probably many of you this year we lost our ability to watch UK tv ITV/BBC etc using our 1.2 meter dish.

We are getting some channels but not the ITV/BBC one's using our sky box and the card, we take out during our visits from home.

Would be interested to hear your advice and recommendations from anyone who has overcome these problems, including an indication of costs involved either on setting up and/or regular monthly payments.

We are considering having a sun canopy on the front of our property, as there are a number of fellow owners who have had them already fitted on neighbouring properties we would appreciate any feedback on companies who you would both recommend and who we should perhaps avoid!

Our house is a 2 bed (pink) and the canopy we are looking to purchase would be one in keeping with the house colour scheme.

Any indication of likely price this will cost us based on previous experience for supply and fit or just supplying would be also welcomed.

We dined in the restaurante last night would agree good to see this type of restaurante in San juan however service will need to improve
Lots of staff but we experienced very slow service even allowing for more laid back approach in spain, had several tables and chairs passing over our heads as they were repositioning tables for other, whilst primarily seafood restaurante good choice of tapas and meat, we had steaks at 15 euros a head.
Manager is ex casa del vaga
Bar area very styleish with great light display although can be too much when dining!

heard it would be open 3 mths of year only give it a try anyone thinking of visiting for food or drinks and tapas.

Just returned from a week in San Juan, the weather was fantastic left this morning early and was already 28 degrees!

Not much to report since our update a month ago - a few snippets however:

La Isla undergoing signficant refurbishment - knocked out to be open plan internally, no sure when they will open but must be opening for August!  Started painting white externally so going for complete new look.

Opposite Delph's where there was a gift shop for a few years, this is now a fuit and veg shop.

Another supermarket opening 18th May by Mena's and where the old furniture shop was many years ago an outlet is opening (not sure what type).

Aquaries that was! (going back a few years) is undergoing major revamp - looks like it will open shortly minus the garden it had previously.

Red fronted open bar near garden centre opening 25th May - tends to open for a few months annually each year.

Mar Y Luna dead on its feet - sadly as the most local bar/restaurant for our complex.

All in all an enjoyable week, little quieter than in March but great to see some investment taking place in San Juan.

Little generator was struggling and smoking quite badly one day whilst we were there and Penisa tranferred onto the larger one, however this has meant more noise (including for our part of the street C Hispasate - you do get use to it but worth mentioning for those with rentals/going out over the next few weeks.
