I'm inclined to agree with this suggestion of searching all traffic entering and leaving. Honest residents and visitors will not object to this if it means peoples property purchased with their hard earned cash remains in the possession of the rightful owners!!! Condado is a lovely place and let's hope it remains that way.
We are not permanent residents but our apartment is used by ourselves, friends and family as often as possible usually not in winter, unfortunately. I do understand that people wish to rent out their properties longterm but if prospective tenants are unknown to them they should be demanding references from previous landlords. Again most prospective tenants would be happy to provide contact details eg email or telephone no.unless they have something to hide!
Undoubtedly the majority of people are honest and trustworthy and there are scumbags everywhere but Condado does seem to have attracted more than its share of scumbags who still feel it's perfectly ok to help themselves to other peoples property.
I think searching all traffic would be a deterrent unless the stolen property is not leaving the resort.
