I stopped going in the club house a long time ago.
IMHO the quality of food has seriously deteriorated and yes the menu is boring in the extreme.
I also don't enjoy being ripped off for twice the amount of wine we'd had - they had put all the wine from the next table on our bill and of course they'd already gone and they would NOT take our word for it.
Never will I go in there again - unless someone else is paying the bill! :)
There is community cover on buildings but this provides totally inadequate insurance for you really. You need to take out both buildings and contents insurance. Some banks offer reasonable deals on insurance - others are a total rip-off.
Are you planning to rent it out? If so you need to protect yourself and make sure you have minimum €5m personal liability insurance. Spanish banks and insurance companies do not provide this - or if they do it is usually the paltry amout equivalent to your mortgage - so you will have to find an ex-pat or UK company.
We have used Intasure for about 6 or 7 years and never had any problems - www.intasure.com They will also insure without PLI if required. I recommended to someone else on Roda Golf and she saved over €100 on her existing supplier so worth a look. I do NOT work for Intasure - just a satisfied customer.
I rent 2 properties out successfully without using managing agent (just via several OTAs and my own website). However, we live live in Spain (about 40 minutes from Roda Golf) and look after them myself.
I'll send you a PM
Same as I put a few posts back
