I normally fly into Almeria airport. However having checked the prices I opted to go to San Javier as the flights were cheaper!

I arrived at the airport in plenty of time and stood in the queue which said Manchester. Got chatting to another passenger , looked at the time and thought this queue is not going down very fast. Perhaps there was a delay.

Next news the sign said Gate Closed

I hurried past all the people in the queue (probably about 20 couples) to ask why there was a delay. To be greeted with ." The gate has closed you are too late"

Well everyone was absolutely flabbergasted. The people behind me came and I explained we were all stunned. " What about all these people?" I said.

" They are queing for Leeds/ Bradford!" she replied.

"But the sign said Manchester and this is the Manchester lane to queue.

" Not my fault they are in the wrong lane" This queue is now Leeds/Bradford.

It would appear that people queing for Leeds also queue in the Manchester queue as they know that as the Manchester gate closes it opens for Leeds and hence they can jump the queue.

The problem they dont announce the fact the gate is closing, till the sign changes and it is too late.

It cost me another 195 euros to get the plane to Leeds instead!

It does not pay to be polite and wait.

The young couple who were behind me would have missed their Grandmothers funeral .It cost them another 375 euros.

That could work out . The only consideration you may have is the issue if anything breaks. Still think deposits may need to change hands as security for damages. Accidents do happen!

Regarding the "For Sale/Let" signs, we are hopefully aiming for a community meeting sometime in May, providing that there are no general elections, catastrophes, "R's" in the month etc., and also subject to ample notice being given to owners!

Before this meeting there will be an opportunity for myself, Monica, Juan, Louis and a KeyMare representative to discuss issues which need immediate redress, although, as the community has not discussed/debated any topics I really do not think that any decisions can be made, or actions implemented until such time.

After the second community meeting we should have a clearer picture of the wants and needs of this community and hopefully we will be able to implement measures which will be of a beneficial nature to all.

In the meantime, there is a need for a committee to be formed from owners who are keen to assist in the running of the community, and as such, any interested parties should forward their names and contact details to me before the 12th April in order that the information be made available to both the Presidente and Vice-Presidente.
