Wey hey!  I have my deposit (plus interest less lots of lawyers fees less extortionate Spanish bank charges) back on Fairways!  Thanks to all have posted on this forum, it has made the difference between me getting my money back or being pulled down with Peninsula's sinking ship.  Good luck to those of you still in this or trying to get your money back.  Cheers, PL.

One small tip, the refund is in the form of a cheque, so you will need a Spanish bank account with telephone / internet banking in place to be able to bank the cheque and move the funds.

SJH, are Peninsula saying you keep the 4% plus the VAT.  I'm no expert but it seems strange about keeping the VAT element, does anyone knows how this works in practice? Also, I have never, knowingly anyway, paid VAT on an apartment rental and if was looking to book a holiday would think twice about paying for somewhere with a VAT charge when there are plenty that don't charge.

Well said Lurker.  It is a travesty that they have the licence given all the issues that have been raised on this forum.  The local officials probably went through the same arguments and decided that a decaying failed white elephant in their region would not be good for business, and the best bet was to give Peninsula the chance to complete what they set out to do. 

I note from the Peninsula update that the rentals at ME23 have been going very well over Easter with full occupancy and repeat bookings.  And that there is a guaranteed rental programme in place.  So all those people complaining on this forum that they have not had any income and that the site is not completed must be mistaken ;).  Could some of those happy owners please post with the good news and set everyone at ease?  Seriously, how can Pensinsula say these things and expect people to beleive them after everything?

Looks like my lawyer was wrong, just received an email from Peninsula saying the licence for Fairways was granted on the 8th.  They must have friends and called in lots of favours to get that through...
