Many thanks for all the info.   At least there are some positives coming out relating the surrounding area, especially if the local railway does start operating frequesntly.   Perhaps now Polaris will push the local town hall more about getting their plans passed completely so they can start on the Town Centre.   Surely they must realise that the more there is on site the more we will frequent it.

Hoping this Summer is a beauty

Hi Nic

I totally agree that Hacienda Riquelme has got the potential to be the best resort of all of them.   We had a lovely week despite a very bad start which I'm sure you heard about - nothing to do with Polaris or HR - and we were grateful for the pool during the lovely hot weather that Spain has been lucky to have had.       We were with Pepa from Resortalia when she got a phone call and tried to explain to the gentleman at the other end of the phone what the community fees cover, and it appears that there are still people who think the cost  will go up as the entertanment facilities appear which is not the case at all as these costs will all be borne by Polaris.     It may appear a tad expensive to begin with (although the service fees of our one bed flat in Essex are more than that), but we are looking forward to the time when we will feel our community fees will be well worth it to have entertainment, restaurants and sporting facilities etc right on our doorstep at no extra cost to the apartment owners.

It may seem like the 'rose coloured glasses' effect, but we touched down to the much lower temperature of the UK a few hours ago and I know where I would much prefer to be right now.

Don't you believe it.   I know the temps are really good at the moment and the air-con is very welcome, but we stayed on La Torre in January 07 when there was snow in Murcia, Granada etc and perpetual rain and we were so grateful to have heat from the air con to bump up the temperatures.   In answer to your question Kenny, yes there are radiators in the lounge, bedrooms and bathroom, but none in the hallway or in our kitchen.   While we were waiting for Polarair to install our duel air-con back in March we bought a cheap convector heater (just over 20 euros in Carrefour) and moved it between the hallway, kitchen and bedroom.   Now it is safely locked in our storage bed until the Winter.

Not sure that is a good idea John as I thought I understood that PW had skeleton keys which could access any door that still had PW locks in.   Can anyone confirm or refute this for me please?

Yes Ken

It is Electrosucina telephone/fax number 968 370 637.  They do sell quite a lot of different things and are very helpful.   With regards to other appliances, we bought from mainly from Carrefour, Eroski, but got the TV & DVD from Mediamarkt in Cartegena, some furniture in Ikea, but bought the storage beds and terrace furniture in Muebles Direct ( www.mueblesdirect.com) or email at mueblesdirecta@telefonica.net .   Just along from Muebles Direct is another hardware shop that sells white goods, kitchenware, curtain rails, lighting (where we got our terrace lights from) and loads of other stuff.   I think the whole experience of looking round to furnish the apartment was the best part. .........sad person that I am.
