I agree,"put downs" should be unnecessary, but on the other hand,it's terrific fun to have a  "bundle".A bit of verbal flaggelation never did me any harm at school,I can tell you,so man up .Otherwise apart from the more informative things on the site( i.e legal bumpf, sterling work by galgos folk, bank actions etc) most of us would be subjected to the mindless piffle that is often written by our "betters" on the blog.Call it a lecture.I pifflicate quite well myself, but the same old same old from the usual supects finds one realising that the chances of "them" writing something origional is about as likely as seeing an attractive person on the Jeremy Kyle show (never seen it,but I'm told most of the "guests"could be extras in a zombie film.)"Newbie,Put downs,Ryanair,Rain in the UK,Never going back,Price of fruit,Busier in Spain,I'm a writer,I'm an artist,Relatives cried at the airport,Prices up,Prices down,The weather,The culture,Family is "eveyrfin" in Spain,The Uk has changed since I left (no #### Sherlock)......................change the vinyl please. What about some nice risque scandals?

OK,back on track; (colon, semi colon, full stop? All a mystery to me).It is quite clear from recent blogs, that you have all become over excited and fractious because of forthcoming festivities,so to avoid you'all having to go and sit on the naughty step..............Ready?..............deeeeep breath.....hoooold it.......hooooold it.......eeeexhale slooooowly...slowly.........Better? Good, now find somewhere quiet and do some "Om mani padme hum" chanting, for your sins.Tomorrow, wake up in a better frame of mind,'cos I dont want to have to speak to  you out again.

Origional question? Property prices in Spain will rise or fall or stay the same, and you can take that to the bank! Try to think "outside the box" (new term for "with a bit more IQ" apparently) Think about volumes, exchange rates, prices of properties in other countries,or if property prices don't interest you, think of something else.I know what you are all thinking........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........I do my best.

I wish y'all a Happy Christmas wherever you are (except the geezer wot "doored me mota).

PS Loadsa errors here.Sorry, composing on my exercise bike.

PPS Do you realise Salvador Bacarisse's Guitar Concertina which I think is the most beautiful piece of music ever written, has never been on Dessert (just kidding!) Island Disc.Pity he died in 1963,'cos he could have made it a bit longer!

Thread: Upturn in Spanish property sales?

27 Nov 2015 2:56 PM:

I'm with Mr Finn here, although I fear that his advice not to spend their pension pot on a holiday home, may be too late for shall we say "the less financially sophisticated" (OK,complete muppets).

Similarly,I hear people bunnying on about "money not being everything",but they obviously don't know the right shops or have a Maserati dealership nearby.

I actually have "loadsa money",enough to last me a lifetime providing I die before next Wednesday.(is it provided, not providing? One never knows and to make a mistake is blogg suicide)

Would the blogging literary glitterati feel free to correct my mistakes.

Stay safe.Be happy

Thread: Sold our Spanish Holiday Home.. no regrets

Heph

Thanks for the heads up on the keyboard Euro sign. The things you learn me.I think that our mutual gramma and spellin shortcumings may be down to the constant rain here in the UK,what adols the brain.Lovely to sea you have  a spirited sense of humour.

Two things. The good news.It is inevitable that the numbers of sales in Spain to Brits will rise because the country (GB) is awash with pension wedge and the massive rises in house prices will probably mean folk will release some equity to purchase holiday homes.By how many is anyones guess.

The probable bad news is that if you look it up on Wiki,re sessions (just kidding!) seem to occur about every 5 to 10 (maybe a tad more) years,so by the time property recovers in Spain (that which will recover!) we may all be back in the brown stuff, and the wheels will come orf (kidding again!) purchasing  abroad.

.Anywayz,as they say in France,"Que sera".

Remember, light the blue touch paper tomorrow night and run like the clappers.Again stay safe.

Please correct my (many) errors if that's what gets your rocks off. (Hypocrite moi?)

Oh Heph! Heph!

What have you done? What would Zeus and Hera think? It's "hustle and bustle" not "hussle and bussle".When the Daily Moan readers, freelance scribblers and "My Incredible Life Working at Belvedere Sewage works" authors spot your mistake, they will be on it like moscas on merde.Just recall what happened to the poor soul who misspelt "tapas",his calle cred was gone forever.

Read no further if you are perfectly content living in Spain and have no interest in ever returning to the UK.

Otherwise, top hombre for the points you make.Unless one has an excess of FY money, one would be very unlikely to be able to afford to return to say Dorset,London,Devon,Bucks,Oxon etc, having sold up in say Torrevieja or some dustbowl 15 miles inland of a Costa. However, £90K "large" (youngperson speak!)would still get one into say Peterborough,£150K into Hastings,Margate or Dover (Handy for France) or £90k into Morecombe (a very nice place I am told, but I never venture further than Luton, not possessing a hairy chest, gold chains or medallions).

Obviously, one wouldn't get get a pool, terrece or land for that kind of money in the UK,but what with it raining for 370 days a year, not having any money 'cos it's so expensive to live in the UK,and dying prematurely 'cos of the state of the health system and drinking 7 bottles of wine a day and collapsing into the gutter,it won't bother one too much.

Finally, let us say that in 2007,Immobiliere Robbum,Grabbit and Runn sold £50000 units at £100,000 (sorry no Euro thingy on keyboard) .In 2015,by some miracle, they move 3 at £102,000 in the same place. This means prices have gone up (technically I suppose) and a boom is on it's way? I think not.Concentrate on volumes gang.

Please correct errors at leisure, one cannot expect too much from a bloke with a C+ at English "O"level.

Stay safe November 5th.Be happy wherever you are

Oh no! Heph, just spotted "comuter"not "commuter".Nothing left for it bud, time to get out the hari kiri sword.

You see! See! You've all been reading the Daily Moan(Mail)or Groanian(Guardian) again, and got yourselves into a right tizz over a very sad situation..Tomorrow,y'all get up,reflect upon the wise words of Elbert Hubbard who said "Never take life too seriously, nobody makes it out alive",bung a Village People or ZZ Top recording on the turntable(!) and jig around the pool to YMCA or The Eliminator (If you're inclined to put on Vince Hill,Jim Reeves or Doris Day,I'm afraid we are not on the same page here!).

Also, please remember that you are not helping the poor man who posted "Bored" in September 2014.He may well be reaching for the Prozac as I type.He needs to read happy clappy stuff.

I shall try to log in from the France next week, just to make sure that you are all perking up.

Please feel free to correct any gramma mistakes which I shall read whilst eating some tappers in my local UK bar.
