What Big summer rentals? Is there such a thing? Who is going to spend the sort of money OVT are quoting to stay in between the mutitude of contruction sites surrounding Manilva Beach.

Phase one is a little oasis in a noisy arid landscape, But give it a year or so and the whole area will be finished and our investments will start to wash their own faces, until then our only options are to take a long term rental,so at least that will half the monthly out goings and soften the blow a little.  If you get a rental to cover your costs then you have done very well.   

Have you been out to the resort to check your apartment, don't trust quality surveys, I think their shades are to dark.

Disney speculation

If you put Disney, Spain,  into google, you will find many diferent search resaults, an artical in the Sunday Times is mentioned worth a read, Then add Manilva to the search and it looks like the local town hall and other official sites have comments too.

Buck Rogers does sound a little out of this world, shall we say, but the other sites sound promising.

If everyone else in the World think it may happen then at least the property prices will hold out or even rise, whether or not it materialises.  I also heard from a local that the Hyett hotel chain were in the process of purchasing the 'Don Juan' hotel, which is just opposite Manilva Beach. Why would they do that unless something big was comming?  We can only keep our fingures crossed and ride the storm.  If it doesn't happen then prices will rise, they always do. It will just take a while.  After all Manilva Beach is a lovely layed out urbanisation, much better than many around.

We need to be positive about our investment and work together on maintaining its charm, through the community of owners, that way we have a fighting chance of success.

If you want to sell up then there are several large estate agents in the area, If you go out to the area and get your feet on the ground then there is a local directory, printed monthly free to colletor in Dequasa, for people/ businesses in the dequasa area, but  Andalucian Dream Homes do market all over the UK at the hotel type proprety shows, therefore companies like them do have a broader spread with sales.

If you haven't paid for a furniture pack with OVP yet then don't, you could furnish it for half the price and keep the change for the mortgage payments.

I too had a letter. I was in communication with OVP over the short fall in my apartments' furniture, not supplied by VillaPack as it was the show apartment and has been in for nearly two years, but they now won't take my calls so it looks like the door has been slamed in our faces and were on our own.

I have spoken to Global Aim about an interest only mortgage and they said there are some avaliable with no set up or change over fee.  At least with that in place the monthly out goings would be reduced, therefore the 'long haul sit and wait for price rise' option wouldn't be such a painfull one.

As for taking OVP to court, I think their lifespan is vastly shortened with these later developents they have involvment in and by the time it gets to court they will be long gone, ripping someone else off. Personaly I think that the best option is to get the community of owners off the ground and take control of our own desteny.

 'Cradle to grave', they will put me in my grave.

If you google 'Disney, Spain'  it brings up some interesting links, surely they can't all be mickey mouse hoaxes. If there is some truth in them, then we might not do so bad after all. If their isn't any truth in them then atleast believe short term to make the nightmare less vivid.
