Hi Everyone,

We have just received a note from our solictor telling us that because the authorities have still not formally issued the licences, there will now be a delay in starting building work until at least January 2007, and our property (on phase 6) will not now be ready until March 2008.

These seems a totally unreasonable delay but I understand that as the fault is on the part of the authorities we have no claim against the builder.  (Unless anyone knows differently ..........................)

We have been told that the bank guarantee will run out at the date specified for completion on our contract i.e. June 2006.  It looks extremely unlikely that the houses will be built by then.  Does anyone know whether the builder pays for the new bank guarantee - or is that down to us?
