Sorry, although this doesn't have much to do with the "pink houses" I have to agree with Wibbleypants.  The restaurant was a great place and excellent value when it was "On the Square"; beautiful food and a great ambiance.  From the couple of visits I've made there since it's just a "caff".
And, having arrived in F de P seven years ago (and since left altogether) I find I am hard pushed to think of any "improvements" since then - it's been downhill ever since.

Stan Stead, can I suggest you just go ahead and buy your five houses there and not concern yourself with this forum.  if you are not prepared to see the problems (past, present and potentially future) with this development and immediately jump in on the side of Palmera/Mirador then there is not much you can possibly glean from it.

I suspect Wibbleypants means they are opening up the access into Calle Campillos (the back end of the development) which has been fenced off since the whole thing began.

Amazing since we are today celebrating a whole year of having left Fuente de Piedra and they were about to open it up then!

A bit more clarification (Hi Keith, hope you are well!)

The problems they were talking about in the article were not necessarily to do with build quality (although it had been an issue) it was more to do with Palmera not being interested in taking any responsibility for problems once the houses had been "signed off" on the basis that they are just the selling agent and their responsibility ends at the point they are signed off.  The other problem was that people had been using in-house solicitors who had basically accepted the houses on the purchaser´s behalf while they were still incomplete or with other problems which generally speaking buyers using this site seemed to have dealt with by using independent legal advice.

As a matter of interest we have  had a good look round the village today at the various developments springing up.  The "pink houses" seem to be on the most attractive site by far.  The site itself is still closed off from either entrance so access is not very easy.  As you say Keith, time is the main problem.  Other than that most of the houses are now painted pink rather than rendered and there are some olive trees etc and wire fences are in place between the plots it does seem to be terribly slow still.

I tried taking some photos but have a flat camera battery but I'm sure someone else will oblige with updates.

As I mentioned before in a message, we have now moved away from the village.  We are currently visiting some friends here however and I'm surprised to see that not much progress has been made since we left last August.

Whilst down on the coast we picked up a free magazine last week called the Olive Press and read a very interesting article entitled "Palmed Off by Palmera".  The article was in fact about the Mollina Hills development but no doubt you would ot be surprised to know that complaints include disappearing garages etc.  However it does go on to mention other problems once people accept their houses and will make interesting reading for everyone hoping to eventually finalise their deals in Fuente de Piedra.

I know I cannot post urls on here however if you look online for theolivepress.es and search their online paper for the article I've mentioned it will be worthwhile the effort!
