Fair comments  Baz1946 - when we finally got to the front of the queue last time at Alicante RecordGo this time - we were there less than 10 mins - despite spending time helping the couple next to us. The magic formula: have your documents / details / credit card etc. ready!!! It really does make you wonder...

We've used DoYouSpain many times, most recently a week or two ago. They do tend be the cheapest, but based upon the need for a large deposit for insurance & fuel on collection of the vehicle. You can however use the 'filters' when booking and choose a 'full to full' deal, and even more importantly - buy a yearly excess insurance policy before you go!

One thing we have noticed is that if you book through them well in advance they can be more expensive than if you book nearer to your flight date. I've even pre-booked so I know I have a car then cancelled - free but has to be done on-line - and re-booked the a cheaper deal a week or two before the trip...

Biggest pain is the queuing if flying to Alicante!! OMG!! Unless you want to book with Hertz / Eurocar etc. who strangely don't seem to have queues...

Hi Denise,

As an infrequent visitor to the forum I'm afraid I've only just seen your request for information so realise my reply is probably far too late... However my wife Jane and I bought a propoerty on UGR just over a year ago, and like you two, were first time buyers in Spain.

We have therefore been desperate for information at times but were fortunate to meet some lovely people at the development who have quickly become good friends. Whilst I'm sure you're now 'sorted' with solicitors etc... and have hopefully had numerous helpful replies - Sandra B is unfailingly delightful and always really helpful as you've no doubt already found - if there is anything we can help with please don't hesitate get in touch.

In the meantime we hope you're as happy with your new place as we are with ours - we love United Golf and wouldn't heistate to reccomend to anyone.
