HI
Thanks for your support with this. It is really difficult to know where to turn to make sure that this stops happening.
According to the police however, the burglaries are being done by professionals and not just opportunists so it may well be that whatever we do we will still have the problem.
We agree that we need some sort of security system but it's going to be almost impossible to ensure that whatever system we use is effective while there are so many people renting. Trying to get through to visitors that the doors must be kept closed at all time is like banging your head against a brick wall. They don't seem to realise the seriousness of it.
Rob has already had a locksmith put a lock on the door to the roof so there is now no access via that route unless someone gets onto the roof via a flat.
One suggestion we would like to make is that we permanently lock 2 of the entrance doors. One door is much easier to control. I know it would be an inconvenience to all of us but surely that's better than being robbed. This is open to debate by everyone. Your thoughts please.
regards
Rob & Doreen
