Your local Halifax in the UK will assist in faxing i.d.,bank statements, passports etc. You can also transfer money from Halifax UK account to Halifax Hispania free of commission with a competitive exchange rate

Apparently the banditos are Spanish gypsies/squatters in block 3. I would recommend that anyone who doesn't have grills already pays a visit to the blacksmith in the village. His name is Jose-Antonio and his nephew Carlo works with him. They do not speak English but you will be able to make yourself understood. When we had ours fitted (in Oct 2007) Jose came out to measure up and then came back later with a price. We left a deposit 300 (euros) and gave him a set of keys. When we went  back in the Dec we collected our keys and paid the balance (1200 euros). Job complete, apartment in tact and no mess. 1500 euros for all of our doors and windows to have good solid grills fitted and give us peace of mind seems a small price and well worth it. Two apartments in our corridor have been broken into. I think the grills have saved us.
