Hi all Penthouse owners

We are a Danish family who has purchased a top floor apartment in block 13. We are in the fourties, and we have two boys aged 11 and 16, and we intend to come to Spain once or twice a year and otherwise rent our apartment out. We look very much forward to the sun and warm weather and beautiful views from the apartment. I hope that over the years the Oasis and other parts of the resort will be living and in vigour.

My wife and I visited the area in January 2007 and we were fascinated by the beautiful nature with the mountains all around the resort and local beaches close to Mazarron.  It's nice to see that these beaches are not overpopulated by hotels and concrete blocks stuffed with apartment like many other parts of Spain.

I have a special reason to purchase an apartment in southern Europe in the sunny Spain : I am an amateur astronomer and in Denmark conditions for observing stars are miserable. Just like you have more than 300 sunny days a year in Costa Calida, you have 300 clear nights, warmer comfortable weather, dark skies during the summer season (in Denmark it never gets completely dark between the beginng of may and the beginning of August), and finally all stars are 17 degrees higher in the sky to the south. You can actually see towards the center of our Milky Way, which you can not see from northern Europe at all.

The best thing would have been to bye an apartment far away in the mountains, away from any streetlights, but my wife wanted to be close to some sort of civiliszation. Over the years, Condado de Alhama will grow to a small city with quite a lot of light pollution, but I am quite sure conditions will always be better than here in Denmark.

Looking forward to meeting some of you in the future

Best regards, Claus Bagger.

Does anybody have any news about the situation or pictures  from Conda del Alhama ? I know from construction of a normal, Danish house that laying the foundation can take a lot of time and should be done with great care. Since frost is not of major concern in southern Spain this process might be somewhat easier. Does anybody have a clue ?

Best regards, Claus, Denmark

Dear Phil

If you study the following link from Polaris Worls own homepage, you will see that PW still has about 112 apartments left of the initial Jardines de Alhama resort. This is quite a reduction since I last checket the number (April 24) and commented on it here on EyeOnSpain (the tread Some pictures from the weekend). Then there were 300 available.

http://www.polarisworld.com/polarisworld/front/resorts/buscador.jsp?language=en&pais=GB&menudesplegado=&resort=Condado%20de%20Alhama%20Golf%20Resort.

I just don't know how much these figures reflect the actual situation. Do the plots mentioned here include all the plots that e.g. Golden Partners have the right the sell  but have not yet sold ? I don't know, perhaps somebody else does ?

Best regards, Claus, Denmark

We were offered a Jardine style apartment in Los Naranjos north of the club house in December, and I believe they had then just been released. On Polaris Worlds homepage you can see that about 300 are stlll for sale. Use the following link for more info :

http://www.polarisworld.com/polarisworld/front/resorts/buscador.jsp?language=en&pais=GB&resort=

Here you can also see that about 280 Jardines apartments are still available in El Mirador.

What I would like to see is the exact location of each apartment with property numbers indicated. Does anybody know where such information can be found ?

Thanks for the pictures, Parcela.    It's nice to see that soul is being moved.

Could you also upload your pictures to the section called "Shared photos" here on EyeonSpain in the Condado de Alhama group. Then everybody will be able to enjoy the pictures.

Best regards, Claus Bagger, Denmark (future Naronjos de Alhama penthouse owner)
