We go to Gran Canaria every January for 2 weeks, it is a beautiful place, we originally wanted to buy one of the houses near the marina but they were only flats and they cost around £350,000 pounds, its the location, but I think San Juan could be just as good - all we need is a marina.  I have bought my first bougenvillia, it is now on the roof terrace, we bought an automatic watering system which works from the tap on the roof. 

Have uploaded some photos of Puerto Morgan and a few of Cala Blanca where we stay, it is near Taurito.

Have they broken through the central zone yet to the bottom road?  hope work resumes on site soon - just when things were going well!!!!

Thank you for the photos and for the detailed report it is very interesting.

We completed on our property a few months ago,on phase 1, We have been on one holiday so far but our friends spent a week there recently and said they tried to find a fault in the  building work but couldnt find one thing wrong.  Glad the central zone is getting ready to open up - maybe when we go again on November 27th it will be finished.  

You are right about making the right choice - its a fantastic site - cant wait to get back to the sunshine.

Young Paddy moved to Roscommon and bought a donkey from a farmer for
100.00 euros. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day. The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news, the donkey died.' Paddy replied, 'Well then - just give me my money back.'
The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I spent it already.'
Paddy said, 'Ok then, just bring me the dead donkey.'
The farmer asked, 'What are you going to do with him?
Paddy said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.'
The farmer said, 'You can't raffle off a dead donkey!'
Paddy said, 'Sure I can. Watch me…… I just won't tell anybody he's dead.'
A month later, the farmer met up with Paddy and asked, 'What happened with that dead donkey?'  Paddy said, 'I raffled him off,  I sold 500 tickets at two euros a piece and made a profit of 898.00 euros'
 The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?'
 Paddy said, 'Just the guy who won - so I gave him his two euros back.'
 
 Paddy now works for the Irish Government!!!!!!

Just had our first holiday in our own property,  the first week we had heavy rain but the rest of the time was very hot.  The whole site is really taking shape now, we went to the Calypso for a drink one night and were surprised to see how colourful our houses looked even from that distance.

During our stay the central zone was being worked on every day by about a dozen work men -  the day we left it was almost completed so maybe when we go again in November we will be able to walk down to the roundabout instead of doing the longer circuit around the houses.  I took 3 photos of the central zone which Almeriastu kindly posted for me  - my computer refuses to do the job.

When we sat on the roof terrace in the blazing sun with a glass on wine, we both agreed  we never thought it would happen ,but it has been well worth the wait.
