When we first bought on Roda (aprox 10 years ago) we opened a bank account with Barclays Spain. we didn't pay any charges, had a local branch with english speaking staff, so no problem.

Then the bank was taken over by La Caixa bank. They moved our account to Cartagena, started making charges on our account and when our credit cards and debit cards expired told us we needed to re apply. When we asked if we could move our account to a La Caixa bank nearer Roda we were told we needed to close our account and re-apply at the new bank, even though they are both La Caixa banks.

This is just the tip of the iceburg with the problems we have had, and we've come to the conclusion they don't want our business, so are now looking for a new bank.

With this in mind can anyone recommend a decent bank.

Aquagest have cheched the meter to establish it is ours, and the only outside tap is on the roof (solarium).

Thanks for the advice regarding the complaints form that could be very useful.

 Hi,

I have recently received a water bill for 750€. Our normal bill is around 30 - 60€ depending on the time of year. During the period covered, the apartment was occupied for eight days.  I contacted Aquagest to dispute the amount, and they sent someone round to read the meter again. The meter has since been checked to see if it is working and found to be alright.  Aguagest insisted that we may have a leak, so we have had it checked by a plumber who has found no leak. We have since had our account debited with the 750€.

Aquagest have said that there is nothing more they can do. Has anyone else had any problems with unexplained high bills?

Hi Everyone,

We recently completed on phase 3b, we found one or two small snags but the major problem was when we tried to fit a dishwasher and washer/dryer.They did not fit under the worktop.

Admittedly we did not purchase these items from Roda but assumed all electrical appliances were the same height.

We wondered if anyone else had this problem and if so how did you resolve it.

Incidentally we are very pleased with the apartment.
