Like all the rest of you, I've reached the end of my rope with Palmera. It's difficult to know whether to join in with one of the class actions already up and running against Palmera, or to sit tight and wait for the situation to unravel. The BIG question for me is whether Palmera are fraudsters or whether they are genuinely caught up in the builder's mess. I paid a deposit of approx. 37,000 euros over three years ago and have only just been made aware by Palmera that I can ask for a full refund. Whether I get it or not remains to be seen! The court action against Palmera that I am aware of is being led by the Costa del Sol action group (
www.costa-action.co.uk) I have spoken to Mr. Rhys-Jones, who heads up this company, and he seems to have an abundance of evidence to indicate that Palmera are indeed crooks. I also have a property at Mirador de Torreblanca, which I bought off plan and have sold...inasmuch as the purchaser has paid a 25,000 euro deposit, which I have banked. The development has hit a snag, and we cannot complete, but at least I have recovered part of my original costs. Needless to say, I will have made a loss on this deal, as it has not made any profit in over three years.
