Has anyone heard of any legal problems with Jardine de Palomares.

Our solicitor has told us today that although the habitacion licence has been granted they are still in conversations with the town hall.

 The solicitor contacted us and gave us a date to complete, next week,  at the beginning of this month.However when, in my reply , I asked about the problem in Vera she said that they would contact the town hall  and get back to me.  I chased again on Monday (because as usual we had had no reply} and she said they were still waiting for a reply.

Her letter today told us that they will have something from the town hall on Monday but that we would need to come to Spain even if we didn't complete as we will need to sign a power of atorney to get our money back if there is a problem.

We would be grateful to hear from anyone who has  had any other news.

Does anyone know if the problem with the licences is for the whole of Palomares or just our build?

Our solicitor has now told us they do not know when the licences will come through,

 In August when we asked they said after the elections then they said after August and as I told them we have lost patience with the whole process and do not know now whether to pull out or not.

Has anyone actually completed and live on the site at the moment?

We are coming to Spain on the 29th and would like to have a look at the site, but do not want to speak to the builder before we have been to see the solicitor to discuss our options.

Which solicitor are you using?

We also have had a lot of trouble with our solicitor, in fact they let us go all the way to their office thinking we we going to sign for completion and then told us of the problem with the licence.

 They have a very high turnover of staff and when we did go to their office I was unimpressed by the attitude of some of the admin staff.

We would like to change them if and when we get to Spain but are not sure how difficult this will be.

 However, I did manage to contact them by phone about two weeks ago and they sent a copy of a note from the builder. The girl I spoke to did seem slightly more efficient than the other people we had been in contact with earlier.
