Hi
For the past 2+ years I have been trying on and off to contact Endesa by phone or email.
When I try to phone them I get very long time on hold events before they speak and never get an English speaker then get disconnected.
Their email system seems to be broken and usually returns an 'undeliverable' or 'mailbox full' message.
I can't find a postal address for Endesa Sevillana - not sure if it would get a response anyway!
Another thread mentioned contacting the ombudsman service but you have to already have made a complaint first to Endesa and need a complaint number! That'll be the first problem with the phone service again! Catch 22!
The reason I have been trying to get hold of Endesa is because I never get any bills sent to me - I just get large direct debits from my account. Unfortunately my lawyer who set up the account doesn't have a contract number which just makes things more difficult.
I understand that Endesa have offices in some towns - Marbella would be nearest to my property - has anyone tried a local office to resolve this sort of problem?
Any suggestions on how to move matters forward?
Thanks
Pete

Join the club. I too have had problems with Endessa and Telefonica. I was not receiving bills or direct debit requests from Endessa for over 2 years,so inevitably i kept getting cut off. Eventually i found where there local office was located and spent half a day there queing with a translator to get it sorted, this was 6 months ago. Since then they send me paper bills but do not take the money from my account so i have to pay it at the post office which is fine if you are in Spain. With Telefonica its the opposite they help themselves to regular sums from my account but i have never received a bill from them in over 2 years. When you tell people in the UK they dont believe you, and look at you as if you are making it up.

I agree with you re telefonica, I don't know what I am paying for, seems a lot different to what I originally agreed to, and I am soembody who never phones outside of spain unless emergency, in fact we hardly ever use the phone. I have phone and adsl, and my monthly bill fluctuates between 65 - 90 euros I have now written and faxed a letter to telefonica to cancel everything I have with them and been down to my bank to block payment after 5th feb which should be my last incoming bill from them (I was contracted to them until Feb.) and as I have heard tales of them still taking money from account I mentioned this at the bank and they assured me it won't happen

Best option is to go into Marbella office with your ID and check all the details they have are correct, i did not get any bills for ages becuase they had the incorrect address, most of these problems are easily sorted in their offices.

Thanks for those replies.
Looks like I will be calling into the Endesa Marbella office when I visit Spain in mid February. I don't speak or understand very much Spanish language.
Has anyone had experience of needing a translator person or is English likely to be understood?
I'm advised that they have a ticketing system like at a deli and waiting times of a couple of hours are typical! Again - does anyone have experience of this?
Thanks
Pete

Hi
it is best to get there as early as possible and allow at least 2 hours wait.
also take as much documentation as possible.
passport, copy payments from bank statements and a copy of your escritura (deeds)
there is usually no translator there but look up a few words or phrases before you go
write them down and they are usually helpful.
or take a spanish speaker with you
good luck

Good morning Pete,
I have been living in Spain for over 15 years, I am Dutch, live in Marbella and speak and write perfect Spanish.
Also I know how things like burocracy work here:)) which sometimes can be pretty frustrating.
If you want me to go with you to help you can contact me on : zuyderwijk (at) yahoo (dot) com
I already helped a lot of people here with the same problem.
Have a good weekend!

Hi All
Thanks everyone for all the replies.
In short - Endesa don't seem to be able to reply in English to their phone call centre & even if they could they need my customer number that I never had.
I was in Costa del Sol last week so took a different approach to solving this nuisance problem.
They do have a little office at number 5, Calle Serenata, Marbella which my sat-nav / gps guided me to.
With my NIE, Passport and printouts of direct debit charges to my bank account and my Spain apartment address together with some carefully chosen phrases translated with Google language option they were able to find my account and print out quite a lot of statements going back about 1 year.
They also took my UK address to send future statements to - we will have to see if that actually happens!
The visit to their office took about 15 minutes and although the person I saw only understood a little English we managed between us with my page of translations to work everything out.
I hope that helps

Hi
I've had similar problem with Endesa. To register with them online you need your last bill, so if you dont have one its a catch 22.
They just emailed me which when translated, said I needed to go to my nearest office. As I'm also in Marbella, I found your post whilst searching for the address. Flying out tomorrow, so hopefully I will finally be able to end 6 months of no bills.
I hate Endesa with a passion. For the last 3 years I've tried to change the bill to my name as it was in the previous owners. I dont mind that they only comunicate in spanish (it is spain after all) but they ignored all my spanish requests. When they finally did something about it, they put me in the situation you found yourself in.
Cheers

Hi Simon
Just make sure you take copies of your identification, your NIE, your Escritura (title deeds) and if you don't speak Spanish or have a translator with you then take some already translated phrases about what you are trying to acheive!
The local Marbella Endesa office although a bit scruffy is fine. The lady I saw was helpful but didn't really speak any English. I was fortunate when I called mid-morning & got served within a few minutes.
Good luck

Hi maggs;
A similar question was asked the other day about Endesa on the CDS; the only address I could come up with is actually in Estepona...couldnt find anything about a branch in Fuengirola...not what you want to hear of course but it might just help...
Dirección
Avd. Litoral
Estepona
Teléfono
952 800 792
I have no idea if these details are correct; the info was derived from a CDS website so it may or may not be accurate or up to date.

Maggs,
I also wanted to setup an online account - see a few posts down.
There is an Endesa in Marbella, which I guess is closer for you. It had moved since Peters post and is now at 7 Chorron. Strangely this is the old town, so you cant drive past. Its near the Cavern pub if thats any help.
Anyway, I got my last few missing bills OK, but the online regristation is a bit odd to say the least. After a few days after you receive an email asking for other information on the bill. Unfortuantly I put in the wrong number and it invalidated the whole thing and now that I'm back in the UK dont have the new bill to reapply!
Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the Marbella Office information, I will be staying there in a few weeks and will go with all the copies of identification, unfortunately I have no bills only what they have deducted from my bank account. I paid my lawyer to speak with them on my behalf to get the last bill number only to be told due to client confidentaility they would not pass on any information, hence not able to registar online. Hope your able to resolve your problem soon.

We too have had problems trying to contact endesa, we owe them about21 euros, but they have not taken it fron our bank account, where we have a direct debit set up.I have tried phoning them, but when I asked Ingles por favor-I was told ne es possible- it used to be possible as I had to phone them every 2 months until we got our boletin sorted out ! I tried to set up internet bills etc, but it will not accept a british telephone number and you have to put something in ,I think if I can find another electric provider that has english speakers or a better websit I should change, has anybody got a recommendation ?

There is an Endesa office in Fuengirola. It is located in the street behind the Yaramar Hotel - Calle del Poela Salvador Rueda. It is open Monday-Friday 8.30-12.00. One of the girls speaks a little English. Be prepared for a long wait to be seen though.

Many thanks for the Fuengirola information, it will be worth the wait if they are able to provide help with obtaining bills, and may be the problems gaining internet access.
