Steve and Norma's retirement jaunts in Spain, Ireland and the UK

You may think this is too much information but as it’s my Blog site and I think it’s funny, I’m publishing it!

I bought some  XXL underpants on a Spanish market stall – obviously intended for Spanish sized men! Unable to wear them because they are too small, I saw some others at Lidl, also XXL, obviously intended for German sized men!

Not quite the Chicago Prohibition Nightclub “Speakesy” but Frank Sinatra came to a secret venue in Nerja last night for an evening of entertaining songs by various Crooners.

   
 I was expecting at any moment that the local bobbies would arrive to stop the performance and close the place down on instructions from our anti English town Mayor, but the secret venue, reminiscent of the basement Jazz clubs of the 20’s managed to see it through until after 11pm!!

Here are some photos of our trip to Seville and Orsuna, where we stayed in the Hotel Palacio del Marques de la Gomero. The town, and the hotel with its beautiful baroque balcony has featured in many films including ” Callas Forever” about Maria Callas. It starred Fanny Ardant and Jeremy Irons.

The town and the hotel have recently been the film set for Game of Thrones.

Seville, by coincidence, was in the middle of a traditional Fiesta of Costume and was filled with hundreds of Spanish locals in traditional clothes including of course the women but also the men, children and Carriage drivers. Quite spectacular!

I tried to get Norma to sing ” Dont cry for me Argentina!”
