Henrik Larsson to retire - report
01 August 2009 @ 21:37

The veteran striker is set to hang up his boots after another serious injury...
Henrik Larsson broke a knee-cap during his last match for Helsingborg and, although medical exams indicate that he would be out of action for just eight weeks, the 37-year-old has reportedly decided to call time on his career.
"Before the injury he was 95 per cent sure he would quit football at the end of Autumn, when the league ends. Now, he says it's enough," a source close to the player has told Sportbladet.
Larsson, who won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2006, had been linked with retirement in recent days, after his coach, Bosse Nilsson, said that he planned to quit football at the end of the season.
"He has been thinking about this matter and he told me this was going to be his last year," Nilsson said.
"Henke has had serious injuries throughout his career, but the groin problems are not that easy to heal and the recovery time is longer."
