Thought I would share this quote with you today.
People come and go in our lives, some are constant and always there for you without judging, even if they don't agree with you. These are special and rare. I am lucky to have some of these living Angels in my life. Now we live in Spain we may not see each other from one year to the next, but I know they are there and they know I am here for them, always.
Living in a different country brings up some strange friendships. Look around you, are you spending time with people you like and if lived in England would spend time with ? I know that when we first arrived here we spent time with people only because we couldn't speak Spanish. As time has gone on we have found out, mainly the hard way, that they are not friends. But every time they stabbed us in the back, it hurt a little more. I found it hard to believe that people can act the way the have towards us, I would never treat people like that, yet for some reason I had attracted these people ( some of whom were damed right vial to us). I have learned to follow my heart and that has left us in an amazing position, we have managed to loss the chuff and keep the true friends, the ones who prove it !
Today I was given the opportunity to prove I am a friend. I was at the market in Serón, early, straight from dropping the girls at school. A Spanish friend I may have known at the most 2 years, has a stall every Friday. She was delighted to see me and asked if I had lots to do or would it be a quick visit. I told her I wouldn't take long, 'great' she said can you get me some cable ties. As I was walking past the shop anyway it wasn't a big favour, so of course I did. On my return she started to try to hold up these big metal hooks and tie them to the wrecker behind her stall, on her own. At which point I jumped behind and held it for her. This small act didn't only help her but made me feel great.
See if you can prove you are a friend to someone today, really it will make both of you feel amazing !
