1st November 2011: After some traumatic days for Tina from Galgos del Sol & a volunteer on her holiday in Spain, Gill, trying to catch a galga they have named Zoe, who had five little puppies, they did it!

Well done again! GdS team are amazing people.

Tina had tried using the trap but Zoe wouldn't go in all the way so the trap door wouldn't release. She tried putting the pups in the trap but Zoe went crazy till Tina replaced the pups in their shelter & Zoe then spent ages with them, checking no one had hurt them. It needed Zoe to be caught then her pups could be taken.

Tina even took other galgos with her to encourage Zoe to come near them. They were there come rain ... & it did :( ... & shine, hour after hour, day after day.

Eventually, with the help of Antonio from Los Infiernos and his dart gun... time was running out as the pups would soon be on the move ... Zoe was successfully darted. As Tina commented "Gill was my hero, Zoe built up so much trust with her that we were able to get her into position to dart with success".

Tina said "Zoe had been drinking from a filthy balsa and sadly I know of puppies at 4-5 weeks that have then died through toxins so there is still some of the journey to go. It's a fiesta here so no vets are open but first thing tomorrow we will be there getting them checked over....." Hopefully, they're all ok despite having fleas and the mum has worms. They all look really healthy so fingers crossed that the vet gives them all the 'thumbs up'.

GdS hope everyone enjoys seeing the photos of this rescue.
