Recent figures show a Surge in Brit demand for homes in Spain

Research recently published has shown a surge in the demand for homes in Spain, bucking recent trends. The increase is thought to be as a result of Brits looking for a bargain and in many cases finding them here in Spain.  The research by leading property company Rightmove Overseas and foreign exchange firm Moneycorp found an increase in the number of Britons looking to snap up a Spanish property on the cheap. It is thought that this trend is being driven by investors and savvy buyers taking advantage of the current economic climate.

Clear evidence of this trend is being felt by agents handling a greater number enquiries compared to this time last year. Certainly along the costa del sol we have seen such an increase in long and short term rental enquires as well as Brits looking to purchase a bargain. Our main problem is ensuring that prices and offers are fair for all concerned www.fairpriceproperties.com

The growing void adding to the market woes.
Monday, May 2, 2011

The issues surrounding the property market in Spain are compounded by unrealistic expectations of both buyers and sellers. Buyers, quite rightly, are looking for bargains and therefore taking time to locate the perfect investment. However having found the right property they are looking to save even more money and making unrealistic offers. At this stage the deal is falling through.

From the sellers point of view they are , again quite rightly, holding out for the best price for their property. The problem is that many sellers unless they are desperate are not pricing their property at current market values. As a result we are left with a void between buyers and sellers that is getting very difficult to close.
