My son is hoping to go to University this year but needs extra tuition with his AS2 pyschology course as he is doing his resit this year having failed to get decent marks last year.  Can anyone help.  Just needs 3 or 4 hours a week.  Many thanks.

Thank you all for your comments and yes I agree on all counts.  I have spanish neighbours and they only speak Spanish so I speak as much as I can to them plus I only ever speak Spanish when I am out and about.  Doing a job that is in the middle of the day albeit for 4 hours but having to travel by bus and lack of money means it is difficult to carry on with Spanish courses.  For the moment I will have to put up with what I am doing although not entirely legit and I hate it but needs must.  I will keep doing everything I can to improve the situation.  One can only hope.

I a looking for a an admin/customer services job that is with a legal contract and in a legal company between Calahonda and Fuengirola.  I am fed up with unscrupulous companies who lie in the interview, do not pay and are generally shisters.  Unfortunately, I do not speak fluent spanish although I am at an intermediate level so this does hold me back.  I just want to do an honest day's work for an honest day's pay.  I am 47 with 2 older children so will not be taking days off for child's sickness etc. and have always worked in admin - secretarial - customer services roles.

Any help would be appreciated.

We have been here for 6 years and our daughter was 8 when she went into the junior school and our son was 12 when he went into senior school.  It was relatively straight forward.  You need to go to the Town Hall for a Padron which is a piece of paper saying you live in the area.  As far as I can remember you just need the passports for everyone and an address.  I can't remember if we needed the NIE number for the school registration or just the passports but it is better to go to the school and ask once you have the Padron because if they don't need it, at least you can get your children straight in.  Registration is usually in April but if you ask at the school they maybe able to get them in sooner.  The NIE number you get from the Police station.  There is usually someone English speaking who will give you a time and appointment to get it and will give you forms to fill out and I think it is about 12 euros you have to pay for each one which you must do before your appointment.  It may be different to where you are going.  Most schools now recycle text books although depending on which year the children go into, may have to pay for them.  All exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers and colouring utensils etc you have to supply.

I hope this has been helpful and you enjoy Spain!
