Thanks for your reply to my post. Not sure what you mean with your answer. I got told if a tenent got pregnant while renting my appartment and she fell behined with the rent, I wouldnt be able to evict her even when her contract was up.

I dont know how true this is

Hi

Does anyone know  what are the rules about long term and pregnant women? I have got this who want to rent my appartment but I have been told if the girl falls pregnant it would be very difficult to get them out if they fall behind with the rent.

I would hate to end up with squatters. I would rather just do holiday rent if this was going to be a problem.

Thanks

Hi All,

Some time ago I was contemplating buying a estate agency franchise, but after some good advice from EOS members and some research in to the company, I decided to forget that idea.

I have now come up with another idea, which I am hoping Estate Agents on EOS can give me some of there valuable advice.

Basically what I want to do is set up my own free lance estate agency (I think that is the right word) My idea is to generate clients by advertising in the local free papers, leave my card at hotels, use flyer's and hopefully set up my own web site.

Once a potential client contacts me, I would sit down with him/her and generate a wish list with them IE budget, own pool, area etc (you know the routine)

Once I have all the relevant info, it would then be up to me to do all the donkey work for my client. I would find as many Estate Agents with properties that fitted my clients wishes.

The advice I am looking for, is would it be better to charge my client for this service, or if I got a sale ask the relevant Estate Agent for a commission on the sale?

If you think a commission from the Estate Agent would be better what in your opinion would be a fair commission? and what would you suggest I say to the Estate Agents on first meeting them?

I would really appreciate any help and advice you can give me.

Much appreciated

Ollie

Hi,

Thanks for your replies. I not saying I'm going to go into this Estate Agency just looking at it at the moment. I have been racking my brains to find out what I can do work wise.

As you say Johnone it would be fool hardy to jump in with both feet.

Hi Candyfloss,

No the Estate Agency is not Remax. It's only a very small Agency. It only has about 4 Offices. However I did look at Remax but i wasn't too impressed with their packages. And I found them very contradictory on some of their answers.

Thank you for your greeting Candyfloss.

I have looked at Bars & Cafe's, but every man and his dog is doing that. As you sat John it needs something special.

Hi all,
I'm looking for abit of advice if possible. I'm looking to start my own business if possible. At the moment I work for one of the big estate agents on the Costa Blanca.
I really don't like working for them, I don't like the way they operate, I have not sold many properties simply because I cant tell people how good the company is, when I know the after sales is the pits.
So I think its only a matter of time before I get the sack for not reaching their so called targets (Rant over).
the main reason for this help post is....I am looking at a couple of options for future employment, as I need to work.
I don't have a lot of money to invest. I have been talking to this small company about a franchise in resale and property management I know their is a slump in the property market, but I don't want to make a fortune or rip people off, I just want to make a little money to tick over.
If that's no good I was thinking of setting up an Auction room selling Bric A Back etc. Does anyone know where I can find out how I go about setting one up please?
Or any other venture that may be available. I would really appreciate any help.
Thank You.
