I am pleased to say i have now completed in fact i completed last week i did have another lawyer to takeover but they weren't needed if you want their name i will happily forward it to you they were very helpful and were willing to challenge my lawyers

I am in need of a good lawyer to help with my completion i have already got a lawyer and i am afraid to say it is with them my problem is 
my apartment is now complete  and i sent my funds over to my lawyer on April 18th and my self and my developer are still waiting for the lawyer to pay we have all license in place so there is no need for any delay they have already missed one appointment made by them at the notary.
I have sent lots of emails faxes and phone calls with no reply to why they are holding on to my money i have now been told my developer will be taking action against my lawyer .I seem to be out of pocket with nothing to show for it ..i will be informing the colegio de abogados de malaga of this situation
so where does this leave me

hi need a bit of advise 
my completion date has come and gone ,i have had know problems with my developer and was due to sign on28th April my money was sent over in plenty of time to clear but on the day i was told by my solicitor that the person who can release the money was on holiday and we would not be able to compete so i had  to give power of attorney so they could   complete for me at a later date .
after lots of phone calls and emais we are know closer to paying for our property i have been given no answers as why this has taken so long 
we really do not know what our next step should be , we used a well established company ,is this the norm ?should we just wait for them to complete? or taken this further any advise would be welcome .

i would like to thank people for their advice and obviously their own experiences and that was one of the main reasons to join this forum so i could gather more information

i will not hand over any more money untill i have all the licences and to be fair to the developer they have not asked for the remaining 70% of the total cost of the apartment (yet)

as i mentioned in previous posts i i wanted to know if my developer was in breach of contract and what possible avenues were open to me ie possible refund of my 30% or price reduction

as some many of you remind me that the more information you gather the better you are for the problems ahead

so once again i will thank you for all your advice

Hello to everyone in this Forum

I bought a off-plan property in September 2005 and was due to completion approx December 2007 .I recieved an e-mail from my solicitor on 28th December 2007 informing me they had certificate of building works finished and that they could then apply for the habitation licence and arranging the 10 years insurance for the building

the developer hopes to begin signature of deeds of purchase and sale with clients in the beginning of February , but this would be without the habitation licence ,so i will not sign until all the paperwork is in place

Does this mean the Developer is in breach of contract because the property is not going to be ready untill March possibly?

if that is the case at what point could i inform my solicitor i would my deposit back

any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated
