I am hoping to move to costa del sol. I speak spanish and have family there . I would save a lot of time if property advertised community charges with their properties. I am a cautious capricorn and have a need to know the realities of living costs .

Hello cautious Capricorn, community fees depend very much on where you live. Depends on facilities and the budget that has been set by the community administration. If services are not extensive community fees should be quite low. Assuming you intend to buy somewhere the estate agent or the vendors lawyer should be able to tell you the community fees. If buying brand new the community fee will likely be unknown because there is no administration to set the community fee.
Of course if you rent somewhere the landlord should in theory pay the community fees but depends on the rent being charged.
Sorry if this is vague but hopefully now you know how to move forward.
