CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE. MY FRIEND IS A RESIDENT OF SPAIN AND WISHES TO GO TO THE UK FOR A FEW WEEKS VISITING FRIENDS AND FAMILY. WE HAVE HEARD THAT YOU NEED TO GET A HEALTH CARD (LIKE THE E111) IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENCY HEALTH TREATMENT YOU MAY NEED. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE WE CAN GET ONE FROM. THANK YOU.

If your friend is a UK National, and particularly if a pensioner, it is highly unlikely that he/she would ever be asked for proof of entitlement to emergency treatment on the NHS - even illegal immigrants usually will be treated in an emergency, no questions asked. But if you want to play it safe and go by the book, you can find the information you require at this site:
