Hi all , can anyone tell me how I go about hiring a car seat for a baby 3 months old? Are the chairs offered with car hire company's as safe as UK standard..

When you hire a car, you will be given the option of hiring a child/infant seat at the same time. The law in Spain regarding these seats is the same as in UK and the car hire companies have a selection for you to choose from when you collect the car. Some of them seem the worse for wear so choose carefully and check the seats when you collect them. When I've used them, they have had a good selection and I found two good ones with no problem. I think we paid €20 for both seats for a fortnight. (That's 20 euro in total, not each seat).

Hi all
Been here 3 years in Orihuela and this is my first post!
For car seat hire, from what i've seen best to avoid car co as they are battered around the car parks by staff who don't care. Car seats are not fit for use once damaged as i'm sure you know
Contact Marie at: Holitots Nursery Equipment Hire (i cannot put the link as this is first post, strange but hey ho) if you google search 'holitots' it will come up!!
Hires out everything for kids, travel cots, wood cots with breathable mattresses, car seats, buggies, etc
Will meet you at Alicante or Murcia airport with the seats as you arrive. Marie who runs Holitots, is a mother of two young kids and worked with children since leaving school, so she understands the demands and importance of child safety.
Also if you need a baby sitter and are staying near to where Marie lives, she also does baby sitting service (she is Social Services CRB police checked)
