Online banking from the UK

I was with Bancaja until recently when it was taken over by Bankia. I tried to sign up for online banking with Bankia but I find the web site doesn't allow me because it won't accept my UK landline telephone number. Has anyone else had the same problem and have found out how to solve it please.
