Just returned from a long weekend in La Cala De Mijas and had to post this.

3 days car hire booked through Do You Spain has cost me €11 in total (That's £8.94 according to my credit card statement), I picked the car up from Record car hire based in Malaga airport at 11am on Friday 1st Feb and returned it today (Mon 4th) at 10am.

Because it was 3 days I got the full-full deal on the petrol and that has cost me €8 to fill up on the way back to the airport.

So, less than €20 for the full hire including fuel, cheaper than a taxi or even the train into Fuengiroal and then a taxi to La Cala.  I know it is out of season, but at €11 for 3 days, surely this doesn't cover the wear and tear on the car?

Can anyone else beat this?

Damn, no.  The only way to beat that is if you got the thing for free.  Was it some tinsy-winsy kind of car?  (not that it matters - it still must be a record-breaker)  It is a bit annoying though, because I like to get a good deal and I'll always feel I'm paying over the odds now.

 Hi Eggcup,

It was a fairly new Opel Corsa, I didn't look at how many kilometres were on the clock.

I wasn't really bothered about hiring a car for this trip and was going to use the train and bus or taxi, but it is €2.50 each x 2 on the train (if my memory serves me right) and €16 for a taxi, haven't used the bus yet 'cos I haven't worked out how to get a ticket in Fuengirola or whether you just pay on the bus.

A 'No Brainer' as they say.
