Burning your rubbish in the countryside !

 Hi there everyone,

Does anyone know the rules or rule about burning your garden rubbish in Cartama countryside ? I am presuming i would have to go and ask at the Town Hall ? as many people say many different things ! and I for one do not want to be fined for burning my garden rubbish !

Mind you surely there must be a law apertaining to the whole of Spain governing burning your garden waste/Bonfires ?? and where would one find this law - Thanks

It does vary from area to area, but in the Campo you will definately need a Licence, if you enquire at the Ayuntamiento they will tell you when and where you can obtain the licence, you will need a copy of your escritura (copia simple) to show where your land is ( when you go to apply),  there will also be strict guidelines as to when you can light your fire, and what precautions you have to take.

I don't know your particular area, but where I am, if it is within the confines of a garden as opposed to campo, you do not need a licence, but the fire has to remain small, and has to be extinguished totally by 2pm and can only be lit, Monday to Friday, attended at all times, and a hosepipe on standby. All sensible precautions.

 Thanks Shadow you have confirmed my suspicions - I better away to the Town Hall before I start burning !!! Its true eh if in doubt contact the Town Hall in your area !!

 Well would you believe this then !!! Went this morning to our Town Hall in Cartama along with my escritura, padron, residence etc.... and asked for a "permiso de fuego " and they said no you do not need a licence in the "Campo" , but you can only burn Monday to Friday between 9 am and 2 pm - Do not burn on Saturdays or Sundays !!! so there you go surprises every time .
