Bank shares face more woes after Spanish rescue

Monday 24th May 2010



European bank shares look set to start another rollercoaster week after Spanish authorities stepped in to rescue regional lender Cajasur.



The Bank of Spain intervened over the weekend after merger talks with Unicaja broke down.



Cajasur can now draw £477million from the state's Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring.



It is feared that Cajasur's collapse will revive fears for other Spanish

banks

.

Watching it on the news this morning, my neighbour told me that it is backed by the church. God's obviously taken his eye off the ball.
