Selling a property in Spain.

Hi all

Parents have bought property BLOCK 11 Which should have been completed september 06.

 

They are still awaiting confirmation, and have considered pulling out or private selling in which case transfering the property over.

 

Please give any advise

in todays climate of dropping property prices they will prob have to lose money if they sell, I am going to hang in try to get rentals and prob sell in 3 or 4 yrs

I have been waiting two years for block 13 and have transferred to block 6 in December which was ready. It  took a lot of face to face confrontation with Rushcliff Int to get them to respond but enough was enough. I am now delighted with my property. I beleve this is stil a good investment. Lee 123 . I was out there last week and your block looks very close to being finished in fact I am sure I saw lights on at night  in block 11 so you have neighbour already in.

We have an apartment in block 7and were told that we could complete in Dec 2006 and duly moved the funds to Spain and ordered and paid for furniture.  However we are still waiting!! There was the problem with an inadequate electricity supply that required an additional access road to the supply point which I believe wasn't resolved until sometime in September 2007. 

In December 2007 we were again given verbal assurances from Rushcliffe that we could go ahead and complete on our property.  Our lawyer finally had confirmation from Rushcliffe in the middle of January that we could complete.  Monies was transferred to Lawyer PDQ, and low and behold we are still waiting to complete.  I have spoken to the latest Rushcliffe completions manager this week who now says maybe in two or three weeks!!! Our lawyer has had no any luck either in pushing things forward Rushcliffe saying the paperwork is not ready. 

I guess that the builders are hanging on to the paperwork until they have been paid. However I see a bit of chicken and egg situation, No paperwork no completions, no completions no money.

They are as desperate to complete as we are.

Trouble is the Spanish team have no clue about process, productivity, customer service or even any commercial awareness, no wonder we all have the same issues and they fail to sell and deliver on time.

I found the only way was to drive the process yourself and not rely on them, to be blunt they are hopeless. What will be good is soon we will all be there meeting up and completing this develope to a high ourselves.

I am there in four weeks (mid May), if you need me to look at your block and report back please let me know.

Perhaps someone should supply their owner this site to read. Any thoughts how?

Not sure if your last message was directed to us? Thank you anyway, however we are travelling to Spain ourselves at the end of April for two weeks and if there is still no progress then we will be visiting Rushcliffe's offices and won't be leaving until we get a satisfactory answer.
